Experiential Learning
A global experience
Learning without borders
At MIDS, learning goes far beyond the classroom. We believe students learn best by doing—whether they’re exploring science through hands-on experiments, engaging in cultural projects, or traveling to new places that bring their studies to life.
Our experiential learning program includes thoughtfully designed field trips across the Washington metropolitan area—museums, cultural institutions, historical landmarks, and more—that deepen classroom learning and connect students to their community.
Learning by doing
As part of our global focus, students also have opportunities to participate in international study abroad experiences that immerse them in Spanish-speaking cultures, strengthen their language skills, and expand their worldview. Whether close to home or across the globe, these experiences help students grow as curious, confident, and compassionate learners.
